Dr. Aafia a neuroscientist, who was educated in USA, who has American Nationality and who was a mother of three young children was kidnapped by the Pak/American intelligence agencies in 2003. She, along with her 3 children, was in the custody of intelligence agencies for the last 5 years. When her presence in Afghan Prison as prisoner No.650 was leaked, she was brought on the surface by kidnappers. The story created is self explanatory and nothing is required to say in favour of Dr.Aafia Siddiqui in the presence of this fake story. According to the story, (http://www.usdoj.gov/opa/pr/2008/August/08-nsd-687.html) On July 17, 2008 a woman was wandering outside the Ghazni governor's compound with a boy 11 years of age. She was apprehended by the Afghan Police. Afghan Police discovered a bag in which she was carrying some maps of New York, some chemical used in bomb making and she was planning to carry out an attack on America from Bagram. The next day she was interrogated by the Afghan Police and for their help American army officer were also present. Dr. Aafia was behind a curtain and as the Americans did not know how much dangerous this lady is, one of the Americans put his rifle in his feet. This lady of 90 pounds(as called by her lawyer)picked up the rifle and fired on the Americans but she missed it. In reply Americans fired at her and she received the bullets in her abdomen. after 2 weeks she was taken to USA and presented before a court with charges of assault on American army officers. She has no charge of terrorism despite the fact that she was one of the most wanted terrorist on FBI list (http://newyork.fbi.gov/dojpressrel/pressrel08/siddiqui090208.htm).
Some questions arising from the story:
1. Dr.Aafia was abducted from Karachi in 2003. If she was not in US custody, why did FBI initially confirmed the capture of Aafia and then backtracked ? (What happened to Aafia Siddiqui and her children that day is anyone's guess. Siddiqui's mother, Ismet, claims that a few days after Siddiqui's disappearance, a man on a motorcycle arrived at her house in a leather suit and helmet and told her Aafia was being held and that she should keep quiet if she ever wanted to see her daughter and grandchildren again.
A report in the Pakistani Urdu press said that Siddiqui and her kids had been seen being picked up by Pakistani authorities and taken into custody. Even a spokesman for Pakistan's interior ministry and two unnamed U.S. officials confirmed this in the press. Several days later, however, Pakistani and American officials mysteriously backtracked, saying it was unlikely that Siddiqui was in custody. http://www.bostonmagazine.com/articles/whos_afraid_of_aafia_siddiqui/)
2. How can a woman with a boy be wandering in Afghanistan not only a war zone but also a society where women cannot afford to wander just like that?
3. Can a woman with some chemicals and some maps of US targets plan a disaster in America while in Afghanistan?
4. Dr. Aafia picked up a rifle from the feet of american army officers and fired at them but she missed the target. Can one think of this situation? A prisoner who is one the other side of a curtain picks up a rifle from other side of curtain and fires.
5. American army officer fires from M-4 rifle at zero distance and she got wounded. According to the medical reports she has a bullet wound in her abdomen. Is it possible that a woman getting a gunshot in abdomen from M-4 rifle at zero distance survives and her abdominal viscera and major vessels remain intact.
6. She receives medical aid, is operated upon and within two weeks appears in an american court in New York. What about her wounds and her post operative care? With such a major surgery, can she travel so long and appear in the court?
7. She was among the most wanted terrorist list of FBI since 2004 till her appearance in New York. Where are those charges. She has been indicted only for attempting to kill american officers (Siddiqui is charged in the Indictment with: (1) one count of attempting to kill United States nationals outside the United States; (2) one count of attempting to kill United States officers and employees; (3) one count of armed assault of United States officers and employees; (4) one count of using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence; and (5) three counts of assault of United States officers and employees: http://newyork.fbi.gov/dojpressrel/pressrel08/siddiqui090208.htm)
8. What is the sin of her children? FBI has handed over 11 year old Ahmed Siddiqui to Pakistani authorities, where is the other son and daughter?
